Allyn: What would it take to get the aircraft reregistered for an individual? Are you selling the plane for Exosphere? What is the other 1999 that will be offered? Is there a CFI that can give instruction in it to get me time for insurance purposes? Can this plane be insured without a kit company in existance? Thanks.........Barry |

Hi Barry, There was a lot of discussion concerning the re-certification of 511EA a few years ago. Here's one of the links that was posted by Chris M. who was a EAC manager when 511EA was built. http://www.express-builder.com/old/forum/messages/1/897.html#POST2346 Do a search on the forum to find more details. It sounded like it was going to be a total rebuild project to turn it into an Experimental from an Exhibition. Brian |

That aircraft would have to be registered to a company for the purpose of exhibition, or you would have to work through your local FAA FSDO office to have it transferred over to a Experimental – Home Built. I have not seen a standard on this process, so I assume it varies with the local office. Yes I am brokering it for Exosphere. I have a 1999 Series 2000 that was factory finished and has 215hrs on it. IO-550 w/MT Prop. It is in excellent shape and just got out of the shop fixing every little thing. It is currently located in Chehalis, WA. I’ll email you some pictures tonight. Price on this one is $170k I have partial kits available and may also have a flying 2004 Express. A turboprop RG in process kit is available as well. I suggest using John Klenke as a CFI in this area. He was our pilot and the most skilled with the Express. I believe AIG is not issuing new policies for the aircraft while no replacement parts are being manufactured. I have not checked into other companies, maybe someone else has done this research. Best regards, Allyn

Ok - I'll ask the question: Why is Exosphere selling off examples of flying kits? Seems to me that would be a very important part of the marketing / sales effort for new kit sales. |
