I had just purchased this Express 2000 a month ago and had it trucked to Chehalis, WA for installation of a nice IO550N. Historic flash flooding at the airport. The Express was a victim and washed from the hangar more than a mile while rolling upside down. Beautiful dual Chelton panel underwater. Fortunately, the engine had not been delivered. Waiting for an opinion and insurance folks to settle on what to do next. Photos by Allyn Roe

I really need the help of someone experienced in composites to write an opinion for the insurance company regarding the dangers of delamination from the foam core absorbing water during the submersion and the structural effects of repeated freeze thaw cycles with trapped moisture. If you are competent to provide this assistance, please contact me immediately. Flood damaged aircraft located at Chehalis, WA. Contact John McLaughlin at 515-240-8138 or copterjohn@gmail.com |
