It was a great day for us here as YSBK today when VH-MWD made its maiden voyage. The aircraft flew very much 'according to the book' and our test pilot gave it a large tick of approval.

After all of the frustrations of the past I am now able to wear a large smile.

We have a 25 hour test phase to complete and then will have it assigned to IFR category.

The attached photograph was taken as it was coming into land. Probably at about 70 feet.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped me so much during the building phase. This has been a great forum and at times I don't know what I would have done without you all out there.

Regards.

Kevin (from Downunder)

Congratulations!

Nice Paint job. You should post a few more photos in the forum.

Hi Kevin

Congratulations! Your aircraft looks great. You have done it while I have still a long way in front of me. One more reason to go ahead...

Have fun

Well done Kevin!

I hope that you will visit us here in Jindabyne some time so that we can admire your creation, and you can at the same time enjoy our recently resurfaced airstrip.

Kevin,

Add mine to the list of hearty CONGRATULATIONS!!

I get to my new post in August, but apparently will have need to travel 'downunder' a few times later this year. I hope to find time to come see the new bird in person.

Again, congratulations on a beautiful bird.

Chuck

VH-MWD has now completed its 25 hour test phase and has been signed out for general flying. It is flying very well and the new IO550N is purring like a baby. We are hoping for the certification to be completed to upgrade it to IFR shortly.

In response to Steve's suggestion I have posted a few more photographs for you to see.

regards.

Kevin.

Congratulations Kevin, what a success! What about some performance figures and weight and balance once you have them (I have the same engine and configuration). Hope to get mine in the air this summer too. Werner
