working on my ailerons and flaps . It appears as per the proceedure you are to reverse the hinge halfs and not use them as standard? Eac sent me 10 inch lengths if i am to reverse the halfs i will need to trim them making them 9 inches instead of 10 inches long. Can any one clearify this for me?
Thanks

Tom:
They are installed reversed. As for the 9 inches I guess I'd check with Larry.
Are you planning on using "hinge pockets"?

Tom and fellow builders;
The "hinge pockets" allow the hinges to be mounted with nut plates and screws. I strongly recommend that you use this proceedure on "all' the hinges on the Express. Hinge pins do wear out and need to be replaced eventually. Also, when painting, you are able to remove the hinges to get the cleanest possible paint job. I have seen too many higes that are loaded with paint and/or are all scratched from sanding. Bill C. can explain the proceedure???? I am busy helping other Express builders here in Tucson, AZ (Frank Harris and Bruce Newlan).
I just built the elevator trim tab for Bruce and the hinge is removable. It is worth the extra effort.

Cheers. Jerry Sjostrand
