The bad news: My Express 2000 is sitting in several feet of flood water near Olympia, Washington. The good news: The IO-550N engine I have just purchased is on a freight truck in Portland and was not impacted by flooding. Hi John, Sorry to hear about the flooding of your airplane. It shouldn't affect the fiberglass but the wiring needs to be replaced if it got wet. Why wouldn't it be repairable? The landing gear needs to be cleaned and oiled. As with all metal parts. Give me a call if I can offer any advice or help with your project. 541-968-9328 | ||

I believe that any fiberglass cloth that gets wet shouldn't be used in layups since the wetting agents get damaged (and there is probably oil in the water). Otherwise, as Shawn said, as long as you prevent rust and take care of the wiring, you should be fine. | ||
