My Express Auriga had a nose wheel failure and prop strike on 10 October at EDEW in Germany. The aircraft won the Best Built Experimental at Oshkosh in 1994. The avionics was completed upgraded in 2009 to include Grand Rapids Synthetic Vision,a Trutrak autopilot, Electronic Engine Monitoring System (EIS) and full steam gauge back ups to allow full IFR flight capabilities. The aircraft is reparable. As I do not have the composite experience or resources, I am offering this aircraft for sale. It is currently at EDEW and can be examined by appointment. |

Any details on the nose wheel failure? IE...Where on the structure did it fail? Take-off? Landing on grass? PIO? Bounce? From the picture, it appears the aircraft departed a prepared sureface...did the failure occur on the nose wheel first...or after the departure? What were the WX conditions? From a construction standpoint and failure analysis, I'm sure I'm not the only one interested. I know we're all sorry to see your plane damaged. Al |

Dear Ben, I will continue flying. However, I do not have the necessary builders skills to get the airplane back to airworthiness. She is reparable and the cost of the parts is fairly reasonable. If someone has the time and interest, they could have a most beautiful aircraft. |

just got back from the Bahamas, the planes' 3rd trip. So it isn't afraid of flying over water. I'd still sell it as we only need a 2 seater. I'm building a Mustang2, but we'll hate giving up the space I'm sure. If you've given up building or tired of wishing for an Express.. give me a call, 765-977-5262, cheers, wayne norris, liberty, in |

Dear Wayne, I flew my Express over to the Bahamas last January. She flew beautifully. Still waiting for the insurance offer and then will decide. Robert |
