Well, I have decided I should offer up my Express kit for sale to someone who might actually have the time to work on it. I always felt that I would be able to get some time in on it over the last 11 years, but with 4 kids between the ages of 5 and 13, two businesses, and other daily distractions, the Express is loosing the battle. The kit is located in Lakeville, MN. I bought the kit in 2000 from a previous builder and purchased the remaining needed airframe parts from EAC. The prior builder had done all the preliminary wing work in both wings (all ribs, shear webs, etc.). In total I have put only about 150 hours of work into it myself. At that rate, I will be 140 years old before it is done. I have all of the parts to complete the airframe. I will put together a more comprehensive list, but here are the highlights: - Wheeler Express lower fuselage (0% completed) - Wheeler Express wings (50% completed) - Auriga (2 door) upper fuselage with low tail, horizontal/elevator, and rudder. - Wheeler seats, rudder/elevator/aileron control systems - Lots of hardware (bolts, nuts, rod ends, etc.) - Auriga cowling - 3/8" windshield, 1/4" door & rear windows - IO360 engine mount - Auriga fiberglass main gear & steel nose gear - Wheeler instrument panel and also have a mold - Upgraded EAC main landing gear brackets - Upgraded EAC elevator push-pull hardware - Upgraded EAC flap control hardware - Capacitive fuel probes - 2 or 3 sets of manuals (Wheeler, Auriga, EDI) I have $30K invested in just parts alone. I am not desperate to get rid of it, so please only inquire if you are willing to pay a reasonable price. Send me an email at bmckinney10@gmail.com if interested. |
