I am a new express enthusiast, I need a suggestion about the "engine choice".
Wich is the best engine choice to install on this fantastic aircraft?

Victor: Take a look at www.fadec.com to see what is in the works at Continental. They are working with Cirrus right now to get the IO550 into production. Hopefully they will sell this same engine to the expermental guys too. That is what I am hoping for anyway. There is a good article in the September (I think) 2005 AOPA magazine on this too. GHW

I have the Continental IO 550N on my Express,Victor. It is a powerful, responsive engine. If you use the Continental I strongly suggest you use a Unison Slickstart. Hot starts are always fun with a Continental and the Slickstart makes it less embarrassing on the ramp when you would like to start the engine and go home.

The FADEC model may make this advice obsolete, but I gave up waiting for the FADEC three years ago when I had a hold position and they told me it was no more than two months from release.
