Re: 3D printers for testing part fit

That is pretty cool, Joe. I imagine you could wax or paint the part to improve UV resistance. I imagine the parts could be glassed in into the fuselage as needed.

Re: Takeoff performance

Hi. I've posted the tool to a public Dropbox location:

You'll need to download it and use Numbers on an iPad to open it. It was meant as a mobile planning tool.

Re: Air Condition

Thanks Joe. If I recall, the exhaust port is 4 inches. Actually, that's where I cut the hole: about 6" aft of the first bulkhead (behind the cargo area). I initially dumped the exhaust out there without any kind of scoop. I was advised by the local maintenance shop to install a 4" marine c...

Air Condition

Good evening fellow Express owners. Has anyone installed an AC unit into their plane? I have an Arctic Air unit that runs off of 12v. I've tried venting the exhaust into the empennage but there's not enough airflow or negative pressure to vent the air out of the aircraft. As a result, the condenser ...

Fuel Tank Repair

Good evening folks.

Can anyone offer some guidance for repairing leaks in an S90 tank? Specifically, my aux tanks seem to leak around the sumps even after replacing. I didn't build the plane and unfortunately, there are no manuals and access ports for the tanks. Any advice is appreciated.

Re: Just bought an express 260 CT.... advice wanted

Hello Mate, I don't have a CT, but did fly one while shopping for an Express (I ended up buying an Express with a traditional tail). I would recommend that you read the Cafe Foundation report as it eludes to some characteristics of the CT. http://www.express-builder.com/documents/manuals/Express%20C...

Re: Takeoff performance

I'd be less worried about T/O distance and more worried about landing distance! If you have the landing distance which is always longer, then you're almost assured the T/O distance required. Also, this heavily depends on your MGW at takeoff and landing. You may want to be ultra conservative and plan...

Re: Tail documents

Thanks for sharing, Joe. Regardless of bias as it relates to the CT model, this information is enlightening towards understanding design philosophies and aerodynamic behaviours.

Re: vortex generators

@Gfarley08 or anyone else having installed VGs. Can you please offer guidance on how far back from the leading edge you chose to install them? Stoll-Speed suggests 10%-12%of the chord line. I have the Micro VG kit which provides a ruler but it was designed for planes that they’ve STC’d. They’ve sugg...
