I am planning on going to SnF 2-4, Does anyone know if you camp with your plane if you have to park off the line somewhere? Also if you live between Eastern Indiana and Lakeland I might have an open seat. |

Sounds like the first couple days are the time to be there. Maybe we should try to get together and go out to dinner or something. Mike the computer system logs all engine data to a flash data card so you can take it home and print engine charts ETC. But my favorite part is it keeps a running log of flights so you can update you log book when you get around to it and you know who burnt how much fuel. |

We have reserved space for 25 at the Red Barn Steakhouse for Friday April 4th around 7pm. Great time to have dinner with other Express owners/builders. Please let us know if you are coming and how many will be with you. Allyn Roe Express Aircraft allyn@express-aircraft.com

Well, I was at SNF on Saturday and there wasn't one Express to be found anywhere as far as I could see. Kind of sad. The normal booth area was not being used by anyone, so maybe it'll be back there next year. I did witness a rather interesting event while there. My son and I were sitting in the grass near the taxiway as about 16 RV's were rolling by to get ready for their formation flight. A gust of wind and a little too much braking caused one of the RV's to tip up and turned his prop into a pretzel directly in front of us. I felt terrible for the guy. He just sat there for about 5 minutes while the SNF crews came to push him into the grass. That would ruin your day... Brian

They didn't have quite as big of display as they have in the past, but they did have a real one there that they flew from NM. A little expensive for me, I'll stick with my Express (when I finish it of course...) |

Anybody going to Sun N Fun this year? I'll be in Orlando April 8th thru 11th. I'll probably visit Sun N Fun either that Saturday or Sunday. I'll be happy to meet with anyone that might be there. Ali |

I guess everyone saw the report of Terry Sack's accident at Sun n Fun 2007 it was posted on AOPA report for this week. I would like to comment about Sun n Fun. I flew my Express into Lakeland on April 17 2007 I think a day after the accident. There was no traffic control on the day I flew in. The controller at Lake Parker gave no spacing instructions he never even said rock your wings to acknowledge you hear him. The tower controller was no better an RV4 cut inside me while I was on base and then proceeded to taxi down to the end of 27R with the tower making no statement. I have delt with ATC for years and 99% of the time they do a good job. For the 1% just say NO. If they tell to do something unsafe tell them you are not going to do that and declare an emergency if you have to. I guess you can tell this is a pet "peve" of mine but I think sometimes they can contribute to accidents. Lou Lacy |

Louie, would you please send me a copy of the AOPA report regarding Terry's accident? I no longer subscribe to this magazine, but I too am acutely aware of how bad the approach was for Terry that fateful day. You can reach me at www.tasack@columbus.rr.com or snailmail it to me at 6432 Phoenix Pk. Dr., Dublin, OH 43016 Thanks, Susan Sack |
