Sorry for the last-minuteness of this, but the idea didn't really occur to me until driving home from Oshkosh Monday night, after talking to Jason. I'll be back up there Friday and Saturday, with a motorhome, staying both nights. Since the plans for a builders meeting still appear to be flexible, I'd be happy to organize and host a barbeque after the show, back at the campground. I'll even bring the food, since those flying in will be transportationally challenged, and probably won't be doing any grocery shopping. If this sounds like a plan to everyone, raise your hand so I know how much food to bring. It'll be standard Wisconsin picnic fare. Brats, burgers, potato salad, etc. Email me any special requests, bring your own Filet Mignon. This is just a suggestion, btw. Not trying to horn in on anyone else's plans. Every other plane seems to have a group get-together, with dinner, at OSH, it's only fair that the Express does as well. I'll spin this one as the first annual Express cookout, which would seem like as good a place as any to have the (hopefully last annual) burned-builders meeting. bob@wheelerexpress.com

Bob: You can count me it. I would like a Kosher meal with some fine wine if you could. Just kidding! I would be happy to contribute $$$ to the project. You shouldn't have to bear the entire cost of this yourself. You may not hear back from many of the folks that are going to be at the meeting as many of them are probably already on their way. See if you can get a hold of Jason Day and work out a plan with him. The only phone number that I have for him is: 908-238-9522. But his wife might be able to give you a cell phone number if she didn't go along with him. Looking forward to meeting you. GHW |

I have been in Oshkosh since last Saturday (the 23rd), and am currently parked in row 344 (just north of the control tower about 5 rows, in Homebuilt Parking. I purchased Theron Honeycutt's N58PP in 2000, and have put over 200 hours on it. Was planning to leave Thursday, but will stay if I can find a hotel or place to camp. Have been at the Holidome in Fond du Lac, but that runs out Wednesday night. On cell phone at (650) 303-8135.

So far it sounds like 1/2 dozen or so are up for the BBQ, and Bruce is going to let Jason know today what we're plotting. Assuming that doesn't conflict with any plans he's made, I'd say the cookout is a go for Saturday after the airshow. Will keep you posted as to where, when, etc. Bruce, coming up with a Kosher meal might be a problem for a heathen like me, but I'll see if Peach Ripple is still on sale for $.99 a bottle. Smoother than MD 20-20, and only 1/2 the hallucinations. Seriously, if anyone has any special dietary needs email me and we'll work out the details. And thanks for the offer to share the costs, but not necessary. Besides, you're nominated the Guest of Honor for going to WA last month and doing the current version of Builder Assist. bob@wheelerexpress.com PS Tom, feel free to delete this thread, hopefully after Saturday. We're probably pushing your rules a bit regarding construction-only conversation, but given my lack of foresight and pre-planning I figured your board was the fastest way to contact everyone. Had time permitted I would have moved everything to my board.

I'm going to pull the plug on the cookout. Haven't heard from Jason, but it sounds like he's already made arrangements for dinner, as far as I can glean from a couple of other emails. Don't want to screw up his plans, so it's off. Maybe next year, I'll try to think a bit farther ahead. Bob
